Question 1 - In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? Developed in My Products
Website
BackgroundInstead of having a fairly plain background, I added pictures (clip art diamonds) to the background, as these link with my artist's name. I don't think this is challenging what I found in my research, but developing it. Even though my background is slightly more elaborate than the others, it still doesn't distract too much from what is written on the page.

LayoutInstead of having the page links under the title, they are above the title (artist's name). This is challenging the normal layout of the websites, however this was not entirely my choice, as the program I used to create the website did not allow me to move the page links. Although I have to say, I like it the way it is, and probably wouldn't change it, even if I could.
I didn't do a 'News' section on my main page, this is challenging the research I did, because I personally think the page would have looked too full if I had added an extra section for news. There is a whole page for news, so it is not as though I have left this out completely. I think the overall look of the main page is just as important as what is actually on the page, and if the page doesn't look good, people won't even bother to look what is written there. Even though I left out the news section on this page, I did include 'tour dates' which was equally as important/popular to have on the main page. |
